My Entrepreneur

Today Anna and I took a mother daughter trip around town to do some shopping. As we were walking out the door she was going through some of her piggy bank money. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "Mom, anytime a girl goes shopping, she has to get her money!"

So, we counted out $5 for her to take on her shopping trip. We went to Target and she quickly found that $5 doesn't buy just a whole lot. We had a conversation about saving the $5 and saving more money to get something that we really want. She saw several things in the $10-$15 range. I told her that she could earn some money by helping me around the house. It was a hard decision for her, but she decided to save the $5.

We quickly started to think of tasks she could do. She ran the vacuum cleaner, washed the back glass door, and watered flowers. She also got her aunt and uncle involved. Before the day was over she had earned a couple of dollars. She was so excited. We will see how much she saves!!
