Layne lost his first tooth!!!

As you can see, we were at Seaworld when Layne lost his first tooth! We knew it was loose, but I also knew (from experience with Anna), that they can be loose for a LONG time! We were loading up the car to leave the hotel this morning and Layne says, "Mom, I lost my tooth!". We were all very excited!

Anna's last day as a 1st grader :(

After today, Anna is officially a 2nd grader. WOW...it really seems like last week she was starting kindergarten. This first picture is of her back in August on her first day of first grade.

Anna's May Show

Saturday night (23rd) was Anna's May Show for her musical theatre class. This is our 3rd show with this particular dance company. This year, she was only in one class. It involves both singing and dancing (both things Anna LOVES). This year they did a sing/dance to a 60's mix. The songs were "Wipe Out", "Proud Mary", Itsy Bitsy, Teenie Weenie, Yellow Polkadot Bikini", Wooly Bully", and "Peppermint Twist". They were TOO CUTE!!!!!

She can't wait for me to put on her make-up each year!!

This was her entire class. It consists of boys and girls kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Anna & I after her show. She was the very first act, so the boys left immediately. I asked Anna at intermission if she wanted to leave and she adamantly stated she did not. So...we stayed the entire time (3 hours to be exact!!). She loves dance. I think we will do it again next year!!

Kris Allen Video

Okay, I am SOOOO behind, but have seen this video all over facebook! I just had to share. I am so excited that a great Christian guy from a small Arkansas town won American Idol. God had His favor upon Kris Allen this week (with a little bit of help from voters in Arkansas!! ;-). The town in the video is Little Rock, AR.

BTW, I plan on catching up after this weekend. So, be looking for lots of posts about field trips, awards assemblies, softball, baseball, preschool graduation, school programs, and dance recitals!

Layne's Preschool Graduation

Today was Layne's preschool graduation. They had a little ceremony and I almost lost it when they played "Pomp & Circumstance" when they walked out on stage!!! Layne has been attending this Mother's Day Out program since August 2005 (right after we moved here). He was only 19 months old when he started going here!!

My little graduate!!

I can't believe he will be attending kindergarten in the fall. Time really does fly when your children are young. We have already pre-registered for kindergarten and you are ready to go!!

Anna's Awards Ceremony

Today was Anna's awards assembly at her school. She made all A's this year, so she received a t-shirt and a certificate. We are so proud of you Anna!!!

Anna's Gymnastics Program

Today was Anna's gymnastics program. Her events were the beam and the floor. She did great!! She was invited to be a part of the Superstars & Hot Shots team at the facility where she takes gymnastics. She will start with the team this summer and continue next school year. Way to go Anna!!!

Anna's Field Trip-May Farm

Today we went with Anna's class on a field trip to May Farm. It is a neat farm about 30 minutes from here that is very popular for field trips. Me, my friend, Erica, along with her little girl, Campbell, and Layne left this morning and met the school buses there at the farm. This was a very hot and windy day...not the best time to be on the farm, but it was fun!!

Layne's preschool program

Today was Layne's preschool program and Mother's Day Tea at his school. Layne's class came out first and preformed a song where they were all in dress up clothes. Here is Layne...

This is most of the kids. We started attending this MDO in fall 2005 right after we moved here in July. I started calling as soon as we moved by calling every MDO program in the phone book. When I called this place, the director immediately caught my attention. She was the NICEST person I spoke with over the phone. I went and took a look and immediately enrolled the kids. It was the BEST program for my kids. Everyone there genuinely cared about the children. I could go on and on, but I am really going to miss going there every Tuesday and Thursday!!
